Rethink Robotics GmbH was founded in October 2018 when the HAHN Group acquired the assets of Rethink Robotics, Inc., which was originally founded in 2008 in Boston, Massachusetts, with the aim of providing manufacturers with innovative automation solutions. The idea of secure, affordable, and easily deployable human-robot collaboration solutions was first realized with the introduction of Baxter in 2012 and expanded with a smaller and more flexible successor to the SawyerTM. The era of robots being kept behind cages to keep people safe has come to an end - Rethink Robotics has revolutionized the ease of use of robots in research and industry.
With the acquisition of the assets of Rethink Robotics, the HAHN group has expanded its service offerings for robotic solutions. Thus, the HAHN Group has strengthened its robotics division with innovative Rethink Robotics technologies: along with HAHN Robotics and HAHN RobShare, Rethink Robotics GmbH completes the HAHN Group's robotic division, as well as its product and service portfolio. With this step, the American-American robotics pioneer met German engineers and changed his position for the future. More than 30 years of the HAHN group's knowledge of robotics and automation and German engineering know-how, combined with Rethinks technology for industrial applications, will improve development and create reliable service offerings for high-quality robotic and cobotic solutions.
