Tertill is a solar-powered weeding robot with specially designed wheels that churn up the topsoil, preventing most weeds from germinating. If any weeds do sprout, Tertill will cut them down with his trimmer.

The Cornell School of Agriculture has proven to be as effective as hand weeding.

How does Tertill distinguish a weed from a plant?

For Tertill, the plants are tall and the weeds are short. A plant tall enough to touch the front of Tertill's shell causes the robot to turn away. A plant short enough to pass under Tertill's shell activates the shock thread.

For best results, Tertill should be placed in a weed-free garden. We recommend planting Tertill in your garden early in the season, before the weeds begin to germinate, or immediately after weeding.
