Control Spot using built-in controller or developer-friendly API. The Spot Tablet Controller is designed to get you up and running quickly, with easy access to many of the robot's features, including body posture, gait, obstacle avoidance, local navigation, and calibration. The tablet controller also allows you to create basic autonomous missions using the Autowalk feature, where the user can create predefined routes that Spot will follow.
In some cases, such as when performing basic remote verification tasks, a tablet controller will be all you need to use Spot to add value to your business. To access additional capabilities and add functionality, use Spot's Software Development Kit (SDK) to develop your own remote control applications, integrate payloads, and design systems with complete autonomy. Spot has been reviewed by third party security experts. Messages between the robot and clients, as well as all data recorded by the robot, are encrypted. No data is sent to Boston Dynamics without your explicit consent. Read more in our Spot Privacy Notice.
Spot is intended for industrial and commercial use by persons trained to work with it in accordance with the user's manual. This version is not intended for use in the home by children or others who cannot use it responsibly. The spot is capable of incredibly powerful movement; however, the Spot should always be used with a distance of at least two meters from people and should not be used in situations where a fall could result in injury to the operator or others. You are responsible for the safe use of Spot.

Boston Dynamics does not recommend using Spot outside of the expected environmental conditions and specified parameters. Since hazards depend on the application, users must conduct their own hazard and risk assessments before deploying Spot.
